After
years of frustration with exercise programs, half-hearted efforts
at dieting, and blaming my mother for messing up my metabolism by
starting me on diets at age 12, I found out about the Vibrant
Health System from a friend. At that point I was pretty desperate,
and nothing I had done previously had been successful. The approach
taken by Dr. Tucker in this program was certainly new to me - analyzing
my body type and altering my eating patterns, educating me about
toxins and more balanced approaches to eating and exercise, as well
as nutritional supplements to compensate for the lack of nutrients
in modern food.
Within 1 month I had noticed a difference in that
I wasn't nearly as tired as I had been before during
the day (which surprised me, since I had thought I was pretty energetic!).
Soon after that, my cravings for sweets and constant snacking
diminished and it was much easier to resist eating
between meals. Those first 3-4 months I averaged a weight
loss of 7-8 pounds a month, and haven't gained any of it back. To
date I've lost 38 pounds, and as I have to keep
telling people who compliment me on my improved appearance, "I'm
just getting started!"
The change in my attitude towards my health has been the biggest
surprise. I was really thrown for a loop by some of the things
I learned in weekly sessions from the Vibrant Health Personal
Trainers - about the lack of nutritive value in
most of our food nowadays; the toxic nature
of Nutrasweet (aspartame); how sugar takes 3 days to leave
your system (and how you will crave it the entire time!)
It's
all been eye-opening and permanently life-changing experience.
